UTZ CERTIFIED coffee growers use agrochemicals responsibly. They minimize the use of fertilizers and pesticides, they store them safely and the workers use appropriate protective clothing when necessary.

trees and soil erosion

Coffee growers use native tree species as coffee shade trees. They avoid deforestation and protect endangered species. UTZ CERTIFIED coffee growers are required to reduce and prevent soil erosion.
